Aspects

Aspects represent a character’s overall proficiency and natural competence. While Traits and Mysticism refer to skills a character has typically honed, trained at, or acquired, Aspects reflect an ability that has always been present, or may be innate to their being. These are abilities do not typically change over time, and are ever-present throughout the course of a character's life.

Aspect Score

Aspect Score is determined primarily by Saga. A number of Quirks also have an impact on Aspect. Aspects can range between -3 and +3, and have an impact in calculation of CR.



Ferocity : Aspect


Physically Confront and Overpower

Ferocity is the makeup of a character's innate physical abilities. Raw strength, stamina, durability, toughness, etc. Characters with a higher Ferocity have a higher natural aptitude for physical strikes, and defense against other physical attacks. Characters with a higher Ferocity might be more sturdy, brawny, have more intuition for hand-to-hand combat, know their way around a ranged and melee weapons, or just be more likely to throw their weight around to get the upper hand.

Ferocity includes both ranged and melee aptitude, as long as the action taken is Physical in some form.
Used To:
  • Perform shows of skill with body, force, and accuracy
  • Enact feats of strength
  • Grapple foes
  • Break or destroy obstacles, or an opponent’s objectives

Shadows : Aspect


Deceive and Misdirect with darkness and uncertainty

Shadows are a character's natural affinity with obfuscation, and to a larger scale, their association with the unknown. Shadows encompass any action associated with risk, deception, chances of fate, and obscuring information. Characters with a higher Shadows may be more innately talented at remaining hidden, lying, may have an unnaturally high amount of luck, or simply used to throwing themselves into chaos and leaving their lives to the hands of fate.

  • Obscure intentions
  • Test fate
  • Remain stealthy
  • Control life and death through recovery

Sight : Aspect


Investigate and Perceive

Sight is the makeup of a character's innate perceptive abilities. 'Intuition', 'A Sixth Sense', 'Gut Feelings', and social or environmental wisdoms can all be considered components of Sight as an Aspect. Characters with a higher Sight have a higher natural ability to see through deception, notice small changes and details, locate objects, and analyze information put forth by a sitation or problem. Sight can also apply to a character's skill with reflex.
Used To:
  • Notice the intention of others
  • Analyze details based on evidence
  • React quickly with foresight and reflex
  • Find hidden objects

Aura : Aspect


Influence and Endure

Aura is a character's natural affinity to have some kind of impact on the social sphere they inhabit - be this through charm, or intimidation. Characters with a higher aura may be more naturally pretty, be good speakers, or have an inviting (or even threatening) air about themselves. They may be natural-born leaders, or they may simply be incredibly unsettling to be around.
Used To:
  • Coerce others
  • Influence thoughts through shows of Charisma or Intimidation
  • Perform or lead
